Deathstar – Minnesota and MartyParty

Meet Deathstar, the collaborative project between Minnesota and MartyParty. A few weeks back they unleashed their destructive remix of Adele’s Rolling In The Deep, and now they’re following it up with their debut EP, “Ultraviolet Halo”. If you enjoy any of Minnesota’s solo work or MartyParty’s work in PantyRaid, scope this EP for the wonderfully low price of free. Highlights include the dreamy “Funk Soul” and the smooth remix of Wiz Khalifa’s “On My Level”.

PANTyRAiD is SUPERIOR

I’d like to first introduce myself, my name is Jesse Brede and by day, I’m a web nerd that programs for Blastro, Roxwel, and Yallwire, and by night, I’m a DJ, producer and promoter out of Austin, Texas.  My passion is, very simply, music.  Enough with the formalities, let’s get on to the goodness.

PANTyRAiD - SUPERIOR

My introduction to PANTyRAiD came through Marine Parade label boss, Mr. Adam Freeland.  About 3 years ago, Adam mentioned that he had just signed this new act and was going to put out an album from some new producers that he had met in the LA beat scene.  Fast forward 3 years….and you would be hard pressed to find a bass music enthusiast who doesn’t know “Beba” or “Get the Money”.  Heck, MartyParty has almost single handedly coined the genre, PURPLE.  That being said, their album, “The Sauce”, was a bit on the softer side of bass music.  Don’t get me wrong, in the day of destructive Brostep that leaves absolutely no frequency untouched, I’m a big fan of the negative space in their tracks; however, when you are playing headlining slots and your openers forgot to read the rules, you need to have a few more weapons at your disposal.  Enter their brand new, hot off the presses, “Superior” EP. And if you’re in SoCal, don’t miss PantyRaid at the Lightning in a Bottle Festival!

A bit more dubstep, drumstep and whomp that what most were expecting, but properly PURPLE and well worth your hard earned cash.

Here are a few freebies for you to take home.

Ooah’s latest drumstep effort:

Ooah – The Love I Need

and Marty’s remix of:

Waka Flocka Flame – Hard in da Paint (MartyParty Remix)

MartyParty and Ooah (of The Glitch Mob) are no strangers to droppin panties.. both separate and together. Today, they dropped a new mixed tape chocked full of brand new unreleased originals. Grab it below!

And speaking of the Glitch Mob, today Boreta released a remix of Nosaj Thing! It’s been a little while since we’ve seen anything solo from Boreta, and he races back in flying colors, coming true to his glitch-hop roots.
