NiT GriT Switch Up

Dubstep juggernaut NiT GriT was nice enough to share this tumultuous SLAMMER of an exclusive with us from his graveyard of dopeness. “Switch Up” greets you casually enough with slow marching horns before slapping you in the face with a barrage of distorted lasers and syncopated rhythms. The feeling’s akin to being shoved with each hit then hoovered back in to repeat the abuse. Believe it or not, this track was originally created as a filler track and NOT for release, so it goes without saying that NiT’s the man. Peep game:

Mixtape 002: Psymbionic

What we have here for our second mixtape is a juicy mixtape that is 1/3 purple crunk lovestep, 1/3 glitch hop, and 1/3 dubstep by our own Psymbionic. What starts off slow and sexy soon drops you into a heavy boomer of a mix that will make you swoon and/or grab your nuts. John has been honing his style and styling his sounds since coming onboard and has definitely dialed in a good one so far. The mix has a lot of primo stuff from a lot of upcoming producers, so check this one out.

Look out for upcoming remixes by Psymbionic for Ben Samples (Daly City Records) and Mindelixer (Abstract Logic Recordings). Tour dates can be found at http://psymbionicmusic.com.

Flyer Than A Star Trek Ship

One thing I’ve always said that makes Freddy Todd dope is his consistency, and Freddy’s been consistently pushing the utter sickness through our airspace this year and last with his driving rhythms, unpredictable synths, and overall obese-as-hell crunkness. The result is a giant BLIP on the glitch hop radar that shows Freddy Todd making waves in 2010 and hopefully dropping bombs on more cities soon. (We’re still waiting, Freddy) Anyone who’s followed us for awhile should already be familiar with this man and the label he’s signed with: Run Riot Records, who’s still got a cavalcade of crazy talented artists just lurking in the wings.

Freddy Todd – Space 5 Penthouse Suite

Freddy Todd – Grind Baby

Freddy Todd – Detroit Gets It

Look out for Freddy Todd’s upcoming release for Space 5 Penthouse Suite on Car Crash Set. It’ll be a heavy compilation of remixes of the above tracks by Mochipet, NiT GriT, ill-esha, Samples, Inaudible, and Elfkowitz. Click them for previews or peep these two below:

Freddy Todd- Space 5 Penthouse (NiT GriT Remix) by NiT GriT

Freddy Todd – Blowin Good – Mochipet Remix by Mochipet

Bonus:

Freddy Todd – Accidental Side Effect via Squitty Bubbler.

Freddy Todd – Slaymaker

Freddy has a full length double disc with 30+ tracks about to be dropped on Run Riot Records due in late May/early June. Don’t sleep on this guy.

Check him out May 1st at the Motor City Vaudeville Review Afterparty @ The Russell Industrial Center in Detroit and the Slayers Club in San Francisco, CA May 14th.

We’ve been getting a crazy amount of goodness lately, and I just haven’t had time to dive in and get it all out to you adoring Bwompers. Hidden Gem #2: NiT GriT

dioptase

Dioptase

I’m not really too sure how much of a hidden gem you can say NiT GriT is. I mean, I recently stumbled across him in one of those “oh wow hey look at this neat artist I randomly found” nights, so I’d say he qualifies, but the boy has more Soundcloud comments than possibly anyone I’ve ever seen. And for damn good reason. NiT GriT shows that dark can still be melodic, that grimey can still be amusing, and that sometimes it’s alright to just drop a fucking filthy rager of a track. By sometimes, I guess I mean everytime, as there really isn’t anything that I’ve heard from him that hasn’t caught my ear.

Now let me say, that usually I don’t sway toward the dark dubstep. Granted, that’s because I find a lot of it boring and repetitive. But instead of just rambling about how much I’m digging this dude, we’ll just let his tunes speak for themselves. Here are some forthcoming tunes from his Soundcloud:

NiT GriT has been getting mad love from the blogosphere it seems, but not enough in my opinion! With features from sites like Squitty Bubbler and Stripewaves (check these guys out for more major tunage!), this youngin’ from San Jose has much in store for him, including some upcoming releases. Stay close on the fella and follow him on Soundcloud. Until then, NiT GriT has been gracious enough to drop us a few tunes to tie us over!

NiT GriT – 12 Gauge

NiT GriT – Paralysis

NiT GriT – Park Manglement

NiT GriT – Serotonin Syndrome

NiT GriT – Special K

NiT GriT on SoundCloud

NiT GriT on BandCamp

Go show this man some love, and cop a couple of his tunes from BandCamp! I can pretty much guarantee, you won’t be sorry!
