Free Crush – Rollin Deep EP + Exclusive Download

From the first dubbed out echoes of Oregon based Free Crush’s Rollin Deep EP [MALLABEL MUSIC], you’re immediately drawn into a pacific northwest mosaic of grittiness. With superb and sonically balanced synths terrorizing over crunchy bass lines (and don’t forget a few heaping tablespoons of booming-punchy-banging drums), you can’t go wrong and are forced to listen, beginning to end.

Right off the bat, the opening track, Hands Up whisks you through VIP to that happy place of rolled out bass infused womp. Tweaking out vocals from Mal Irie, we ride along to a swung out & Drum and Bass tune, but as the track winds down and gives you a neck snapping grimey mid tempo flow, you’re tempted to press that rewind button. You might find yourself doing that a few times through the first listen of the EP, but hold tight. It all flows effortlessly and by the next few bars you will be entranced again. Hands Up is only a sign of the goodness coming from the Rollin Deep EP.

With standout productions like Rollin With My Crew (ft. Mal Irie & MC Ro Knew) and Reset The Atari, Rollin Deep is fully stacked and gives you WAY more than most other four or five track EPs. We’ve all had less than stellar albums with an underwhelming amount of tracks. But wait, MalLabel Music even packaged some dirty and duty free remixes. Mochipet stomps through his take on Sailing By, adding some energy and making sure everyone in the club will be well aware when this one is dropped. Taso and The Frim also drop bubbling remixes, with each laying perfectly in the cut.

The entire EP teeters on frenetic, but always holds tight. You might start somewhere familiar, but you are going to journey through tempos and arrangements that will surprise you. You might get so close to the brink of panic or maybe it’s implosion, but no matter what, that necessary head nod always prevails in the end in bass-ed out goodness. This strong output from the Oregon duo is guaranteed to bump on a loud system. So put it in your tape deck, ipod, computer, cd or 8 track. Please turn the volume up to Spinal Tap and enjoy.

These days, there is a monster within the bass music scene to be fearful of. This purple dinosaur demolishes venues to the ground wherever he goes, leaving a trail of satisfied patrons and imploded subwoofers. Regardless of your nightmarish memories of Barney, we are of course talking about Mochipet! And today, Mr. Pet unleashes a new monster onto the world: the Spacezilla EP out on MalLabel Music! Three epic original tracks plus three unique remixes equals one diverse release sure to please any basshead. Minnesota serves up the first re-rub, choosing the more sexy and pretty end of his extremely diverse spectrum. Konekta holds down the glitchstep side of things with his smashing take on the title track. Finally, Udachi brings up the rear with a subsonic gem, a paragon of what tomorrow’s bass music is sure to include.

As icing on the cake, MalLabel Music has shot us over an exclusive remix for your pleasure: a classic dubstepy retake by the hard hitting San Francisco combo of Skulltrane and Fresh Young Minds. Grab it below, and make sure to pop over and check the rest of the album exclusively on Addictech.

Drop Bombs

from 40hz Media: “Since the release of Ben Sample’s chart toping “Snowstorm” album last year on Daly City Records, it was obvious that the bass grinding track “Drop Bombs” has become a staple in the glitch-hop and bass heavy communities. The natural response was that a remix album would soon follow. Ranging between 80-140 bpm, each mix contains ultra heavy bass lines and jaw dropping builds. Ready to detonate any subwoofers in it’s path, the Drop Bombs Remixes should NOT be played in the chill room! (Why don’t they do chill rooms anymore?”

Declaring war right now, our friend Samples is back at it again with the signature sauce. This time he brings along a couple friends that will rip your speaks a new one. Released on Daly City Records, this tasty package of 9 tracks includes some of our favorite producers in the bass game, including Mochipet, Freddy Todd, Sovereign SectStephan JacobsChris BSugarpill, Dan K, and our own Psymbionic.
