With Summer comes lot of traveling for many folks. Festivals, out of state shows, and outdoors trips.. wherever you’re going, more likely than not, it’ll take a while to get there. As huges fan of listening to mixtapes on long road trips, here’s a couple old favorites and some new spice to make your trip seem a little shorter!

An oldie but a goodie, this first mix by Tipper showcases not only his amazing mixing talents, but also his ungodly scratching abilities.. an ability that seems to allow him to create some of the most textured noises in the scene to this date. Can’t wait for his new album, which has supposedly been forthcoming for a long time.

Freddy Todd x The Builder

Yeah, I guess I couldn’t come up with a clever title for this blog post, aaaand the picture is slightly punny at best, but that doesn’t make this post any less HOT! We got tunes comin’ at you from two sides of the underground today, by a pair of artists who know how to keep it interesting. As music continues to evolve and expand, these guys aren’t opposed to bending the rules to suit their taste!

Freddy Todd, featured here in the past, hasn’t slowed down in the months since we last saw him, as far as I can tell. With several releases by labels such as Car Crash Set, with the latest being the “Can’t Fathom This” Remixes, Freddy is fast earning a name for himself in the world of Glitch Hop. Word on the street seems to be that we can expect an upcoming release from Freddy on Run Riot Records later this year. Mr. Todd laid a few tracks on us, specifically of the “kick ass” variety. His tunes take hip hop beats, dub bass, and retro synth lines and run them through a juicer, producing only the wonkiest and fattest of liquidy goodness.

TheBuilder, who I suppose we can affectionately call “Dan The Builder”, has been rockin’ the dubstep scene for about a year. As a guitarist turned two-steppin’ producer, he’s been around a bit in his slice of Bay Area hometown. Cranking out dubs that range from slow and rolling, to fast and frisky, TheBuilder has gotten some pretty good attention over the past months. With a release on Crossroads Records last December, and an upcoming release on Sub Pressure, I’m sure this won’t be the last that we hear of this man and the abominations he’s so fond of building!

There is some massive talent over at the Glitch Hop Forum, that’s no question. Is it showcase worthy? I think so! Moderated by names such as deweyDB, ill-esha, Subvert, ill.gates, and Glitch & Scratchy, these folks keep it real. Tons of information on production, upcoming releases, and free tunes.. a guy like me can get lost over there!

This is the first of a new installment that I’m calling.. Glitch Hop Forum Showcase! Are these the best tracks over there? I can’t be the judge of that. It’s probably the single largest repository of glitch-hop and experimental dubstep knowledge and tunes out there. Are these tracks fucking dope? You better believe it!

Gouseion from Portland, OR just released a remix EP on Run Riot Records for his track “Let’s Crush…” ILLEST EP IN A MINUTE! (Didn’t they used to call these singles?)

Whatever RRR has been cooking, they’re coming CORRECT! Remix alchemists include the previously posted Graintable, Samples, and Freddy Todd, all bwomp-notch producers.
