C2C – F·U·Y·A

A pretty intricate stop-motion music video “performance” by C2C conceived by Francis Cutter and 20syl (who, along with Atom, Greem, Pfel, make up the group C2C) with director of photography Bertrand Latouche behind the lens. Each instrument and layer is represented by individual (or duplicate) performers in perfect sync with the track, so you’ll want to watch this in full screen HD to get the full effect.

If you’re interested, you can find the track on iTunes.

Species Cryptical

Is he Glitch hop? Electro? Lazer bass? Skweee? Aquacrunk? How bout just Hip Hop?

Who cares, its dope. A man by the name of Cryptical made this ill mix for FICUS Fresh Beats who then sent it our way a little while ago. Cryptical is one of the Pitch Lab crew who puts together shows in Biarritz City in France. I get the impression they’re a work hard, play hard kinda group (like us), and Cryptical’s tracks play HARDDD. No homo.

I’d never heard of him before, so I thought he deserved his own post. Fans familiar with Megasoid and Lazer Sword listen up. This is some serious D.G.A.F. electrowonkycrunkhop to get loose to.

Cryptical – Wild Out

Cryptical – Pacha

Arrogance – Crazy (Cryptical Remix)

Low Leaf – Create Or Die (Cryptical Remix)

Mobb Deep feat. 50 Cent – Clap Those Thangs (Cryptical Remix)

Ying Yang Twins feat. Lil Jon – Salt Shaker (Cryptical Remix)

And of course, his FICUS Fresh Beats mix mentioned:

Birdy’s The Word

Birdy Nam Nam is a 4 man DJ crew from Paris who just KILLS it. They’re known for winning the 2002 DMC World Team Championships but they actually make really good beats too as you can tell. Damn French!

Birdy Nam Nam -- Love Your Enemy

Birdy Nam Nam -- The Parachute Ending (Produced by Justice)

Read the Interview with Analogue Magazine. Their album Manual for Successful Rioting comes out 12/01/09.

Funky Glitchful Fulgeance

It’s nice to see someone do it old school during this era of laptop producers, but this guy’s beats are far from old school. (yes I just called an MPC old school) Fulgeance has a style really hard to describe. The only way I could put it is he sounds like the bastard child of Flying Lotus and Modeselektor, while Nosaj Thing watched. You should peep this shit immediately:

Whats better: his EP “Fulgeance -- Low Club EP” is even sicker. This shits got me rockin for days. Out now.
