BWOMP! Broadcasts Live Every First Sunday

For those who haven’t caught wind already, we wanted to announce that every first Sunday of every month, we’re hosting a broadcast featuring select DJs and guests streaming live video and audio to your computer screens. There’s been a lot of folks involved such as Konfused Ink Clothing and FK Studios who are stoked to see it grow. We’ll be having special guests each show, so if you’re an artist in LA interested in joining us for a show, let us know!

Our show last Sunday was a huge success and if you missed it, you can catch and download the show here:

Download: BWOMP! On Dubstep.FM with guest Pan D (3-3-13)

We cannot wait to share more shows with you. Every first Sunday of every month. Come party with us!

#TrapTues 15: Bro Safari & Kill The Noise Were…

A little fun fact: two thriving names in bass music right now, KILL THE NOISE and BRO SAFARI, back in the day called themselves Ludachrist (which I was a huge fan of). This phenomenon sadly didn’t last forever, and we were never able to book a show with them before they stopped. During their stint, however, they showed up to many a show dressed in pastor robes throwing down the crunkiest of mashups with Spongebob Squarepants and Barney the Dinosaur for go-go dancers.

While they have gone separate ways and styles, it’s good to see that neither have lost the spirit of the party and taken themselves too seriously. Bro Safari has just been on fire this year and Kill the Noise has met obvious success (check out his last video directed by Mike Diva). Keep doin it boys! Long live and praise the mighty Ludachrist!

BONUS – Mystical Wonder Mix (Kill the Noise w/ Brillz):

BWOMP! Mix Series 014: BloodThinnerz

Polycythemia is a disease state in which the proportion of blood volume that is occupied by red blood cells increases (aka a deep rich thickening of blood). Great name for the mix by the BloodThinnerz, who are infamously known for that fish wobble sound. This offering on the other hand explores the deeper, darker, rich sound that comes from the world of Dubstep.

Enter the dungeon with us, put on a nice set of headphones, bump it on your systems, and be enthralled with the sounds that ensue.

Wick-It Instigates 3 Years of Hot Fire

Filth Friday is off this week. But here is an incredible mix by Wick-It The Instigator, cataloguing his last three years of remixes, mashups, and originals. Notable releases including his Tarantino tribute album “Grindhouse Basterds” and his Big Boi x Black Keys mashup EP “The Brothers of Chico Dusty,” (which Big Boi himself says is dope) show he isn’t just a one-remix pony.

A crowd favorite known for taking everything from classic songs, to films, to Youtube videos and fusing them together into what could be described as a kaleidoscope of hot fire, Wick-It is really something special. Come to think of it, I don’t recall if I had ever made a feature post for him at all yet, and if that’s the case, it would be a disturbing injustice for which I apologize to all of you:

Mixes To Beat It To

What we have here are a few select must-have mixes to set you straight and get you through what will surely be a very tough MLK day weekend (for you States-siders). There’s just about something for everyone, so you better start clearing up some space in your iDevices because you’re going to want every one of these. Peep mothaf***kin game!

Here’s a unique two-part mix bundle that our own Demon0ne created for the dubstep and drum & bass heads out there entitled Demonstep Vol 2. If you have a taste for aggressive and heavy beats, this package, made to be burned in two parts onto one disc, is undoubtedly for you. The first features Demon0ne’s favorite styles of dubstep (deep, grime, Carnival, UK, and brostep just to name a few, tracklist here) while part two is some straight up hard and dank D&B biz (tracklist here). Try not to break anything (on second thought, go ahead and break everything):

Vibesquad has always been a Bwomp Beats favorite known for his sadistic glitch hop productions. Here’s an eclectic freestyle mix of his originals, home-made remixes, edits, mashups, loops, and layers, encompassing everything from classic hip hop, soul, and funk: (tracklist here)

Green Lantern, of Shady Records fame, has never disappointed folks and does not with this one either. It’s always exciting to hear solid hip hop DJs spinning EDM beats. Trap is the name of this game, and in true Green Lantern fashion, we’re treated with a hip-hop infused back and forth journey littered with his own flourishes and edits that will keep you on your toes: (tracklist here)

BONUS:

By now you’ve probably heard about the controversy surrounding DJ Shadow‘s set at the South Beach club Mansion which was cut-short for not being douche-bag-friendly enough for the rich kids there. Here’s that set:

From hardcore rap to footwork and juke and beyond, Shadow has combed the web to curate seamless and dexterous blends of the most progressive sounds bubbling up from the underground. ‘Too hard?’ ‘Too future?’ Or just too raw?  -DJShadow.com
