DJ Shiftee Drops Turntable Routine for Joker’s “Slaughter House”

Two-time DMC World Champ DJ Shiftee is one talented motherfucker. Apart from having a slew of DJ awards under his belt and being a globetrotting producer and purveyor of bass music, he’s also a Harvard Math Graduate, and an instructor at NYU as well as Dubspot NYC. Thankfully, he’s taken some time out of his busy schedule to whip up a turntable routine using Joker’s “Slaughter House”. Combining Native Instruments‘ Traktor and Maschine, Shiftee takes a page from MPC era beat smithing and fuses it with some tasteful turntablism. Not to mention, he’s sure to keep you laughing throughout the entire video.

Drake Gets His Levels Checked

Around here, we love our low end spicy.. and SPL always delivers. His sultry blend of hard, oxidized bass serves as an excellent example that dubstep can be ‘heavy’ without always needing a wall of frequency to achieve it. Combining 808 smacks, tongue-whirling wobbles, and a oh-so familiar voice, SPL hit the nail on the head again with his remix of Drake’s “Forever”.
