Suckle on the Nectar

This might be old news by now but who gives a frak? It’s been a busy month. Bassnectar, aka Lorin Ashton, is big daddy in the bass scene and has dropped so many big tracks over the years, he’s more than earned his namesake. Always trying to push the boundaries of different sounds, Bassnectar was one of the first artists to convert me from the traditional 130-140 breakbeats so I got dude’s back. See what this bad man has been up to. You can catch him right now on his Cozza Frenzy Tour. Here are two cuts from the album:

Fever Ray – When I Grow Up (Bassnectar Remix)

91 BPM

Bassnectar – Cozza Frenzy

138 BPM

True and Not Just A Hobby

Last week’s party went off without a hitch and I think you can safely say we are 2 for 2! Thank you to all the beat freaks who came out to the party and/or the Ill Gates Workshop. Big ups to METAVERSE who flew out from BOSTON to join us. You are MVP for sure my man.

In less than a week, BWOMP! will be launching its first weekly in LA, aptly titled BWOMP! Thursdays. If you’re in the area, come out and party with us and see how we gets down with sound! Talent for October includes Propa Tingz, 6Blocc, Bartek, and breakbeat mastas Patricio + Oscure on our opening night. Peep the events page for more info!

On a related note, Low End Theory, the maestros of bass music weeklies, have released a podcast mix by resident cutmaster D-Styles and The Glitch Mob. Plenty of unreleased tracks to be heard from these badbwais. Both mixes are off the fetters.
